Stormwater Consultations
The NEORSD stormwater management program addresses problems related to stormwater runoff from impervious surfaces, which contributes to flooding, erosion, and other water quality issues. Pollutants carried by stormwater runoff are a major contributor to water quality issues in the Doan Brook and Lake Erie. Funding for the program comes from fees that are assessed on NEORSD bills for homeowners and businesses based on total impervious surface cover on a property, which includes driveways, parking lots, rooftops, and patios. In order to offset these fees and to incentivize homeowners and business owners to manage stormwater on their properties, NEORSD offers credits for the implementation of rain barrels, rain gardens, downspout disconnects, pervious pavers, and other stormwater control measures.
To learn more about how you can obtain credits on your stormwater bill or if you are simply looking for advice on implementing rain barrels, rain gardens, and vegetated swales we can help! Doan Brook Watershed Partnership offers free, on-site stormwater consultations for residents of Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, and Shaker Heights (our three watershed cities). Fill out the form on this page or call us at 216-325-7781 to schedule a consultation for your property.
Additionally, for those interested in installing rain barrels we suggest you consider attending an upcoming rain barrel workshop hosted by Doan Brook Watershed Partnership or our local partners. Visit our upcoming events page to learn more about any upcoming rain barrel workshops.
