Doan Brook Gorge Native Tree Planting and Invasive Species Removal
August 10 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Did you know Doan Brook had waterfalls??
Are you looking for a way to get involved with the Doan Brook Watershed Partnership? Join us for our native tree planting and invasive plant removal work day to improve habitat for native plants and wildlife! Invasive species overcrowd native species, making it difficult for them to thrive, which in turn affects the wildlife in the ecosystem. Your efforts will help increase the local tree canopy, improve soil quality, restore native plants, and create better habitat for native wildlife. This work day is a great opportunity for both first-time volunteers and veteran volunteers to get involved.
You will use hand tools such as loppers and saws to remove invasive plants and volunteers can bring their own equipment if they choose.
Volunteers can park in the Fairhill Partners parking lot — or on E. 124 — and walk to the work site on Fairhill Road between E 124th and E. 127th.
Advance registration is requested but walk-ups are welcomed. For questions, please contact us at: info@doanbrookpartnership.org
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes, and all our generous donors and volunteers for their invaluable support in making this event possible.
