Blue Rock, lost in the Doan landscape…

Join Doan Brook Watershed Partnership and Dr. Roy Larick of Bluestone Heights for a guided walk through the former Ambler estate, now known as Ambler Heights. Blue Rock Brook is a Doan Brook culverted tributary that cuts through the Cedar Glen ravine. In the 1880s, this sulfur spring entered the Brook at the base of Cedar Hill and was named a hydrotherapy resort as well as a attendant settlement. This two-mile interpretive walk will explore remnants of Blue Rock Brook, the rise and fall of local hydrotherapy, the remaining settlement, and current urban ecology.

Walkers will meet at the intersection of Elandon Drive and Chestnut Hills Drive at 1pm on June 12th. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear! A $5 per person fee payable in cash or check will be collected on the day of the event.
