CLEVELAND (October 21, 2014) – DBWP recently won a grant from Sustain Our Great Lakes to study removing a concrete trash rack structure in the gorge near MLK Boulevard. This $179,927 grant will be matched with nearly $380,000 in funding from the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, which is implementing a large green infrastructure project at Fairhill Road and MLK. The trash rack, pictured right, interferes with the natural course of Doan Brook. The brook has channeled around the south side of the concrete structure and is now eroding the gorge. Stay tuned for updates on this project! Read the complete article in the Sun Press: More than $500,000 in funding lined up to study removal of trashed rack, restore Doan Brook gorge.
